Capt. Grewal commenced his shipping career at sea in 1988 and has sailed for 25 years on a variety of bulk and container ships – the last 12 years of which he was Master. His at sea career spanned both traditional 3rd party managers and traditional Owners including Univan and Fleet Management, Hong Kong; Reederei Elbe Shipping GmBH & Co KG, Germany; DOLE Reefers, USA; United Ocean, Japan, GearBulk, Norway, Foresight Group and Irano-Hind.

His shore career spanning over five years began as a Technical and Operations Manager at Pacific World Shipping – part of the Shun Shing Group, Hong Kong and where he progressed to become Dy., General Manager: Operations / Chartering Strategy / Research & Business Development.
